𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗲: This atmospheric neo-noir based on the hard-boiled novel by Walter Mosley stars Denzel Washington as an ex-GI everyman who looks to make quick cash by searching for the missing lover of a powerful mayoral candidate. Set in 1940s Los Angeles, DEVIL IN A BLUE DRESS is a stylish mystery that subverts the typical noir tropes and explores America’s racial injustices Also starring Don Cheadle in a breakout role.

𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿: Tim Connolly is an Assistant Professor of English at MCCC where he teaches film and English. He has researched, written, and given presentations on gender and Hollywood film during the Great Depression, focusing on stars such as Norma Shearer, Robert Montgomery, Joan Crawford, Clark Gable, and others. He currently hosts Sound And Vision, a weekly radio show on Montco Radio where he reviews current and classic films and plays music to accompany the review.
